Irregularities in FAA Exam: CBI raids 14 locations in Jammu, Samba

Srinagar, Nov 30:Nov. 30: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted searches in 14 Jammu locations on Wednesday in connection with irregularities in the examination of the accounts assistant and finance department (FAA).
According to the Spokesperson CBI,  the Central Bureau of Investigation today conducted searches at around 14 locations, including Jammu, Samba, etc., at the premises of the accused and others (including then-Member, JKSSB), in a case related to alleged irregularities in the examination conducted by the J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB) for the posts of Accounts Assistant and Finance Department (FAA).
In this regard a case was registered against 20 accused, including the then member (JKAS) of the J&K Service Selection Board (JKSSB); the then medical officer of BSF Frontier headquarters ., Paloura; private persons; a private company; and unknown others, on the allegations of irregularities in the examination conducted by the J&K Service Selection Board (JKSSB) for posts of Accounts Assistant in the Finance Department (FAA).
CBI stated that “The written test for said recruitment was conducted by JKSSB on March 6, 2012. On April 21, 2012, the results were announced. There were allegations regarding malpractices in the examination, and the government of J&K constituted an inquiry committee to look into them.”
The committee’s report revealed an alleged conspiracy among JKSSB officials, a private company based in Bangalore, beneficiaries, candidates, and others, resulting in gross irregularities in the conduct of the examination.
Certain allegations, including a high percentage of selected candidates from the districts of Jammu, Kathua, and Reasi; leakage of question papers; violation of rules by the JKSSB in assigning the task of setting question papers to a Bengaluru-based private company; forgery, etc., were also found.
In August this year, the CBI also CBI sleuths carried out raids in 36 locations, including Jammu, Srinagar,  Karnal, Mahendergarh, Rewari in Haryana, Gandhidham in Gujarat, Delhi, Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh & Bangalore in Karnataka at the premises of the former Chairman, JKSSB; Gang members domiciled in Haryana; certain teachers; and some serving or retired officials of J & K Police, including a DSP and CRPF official in connection with JKSPSI recruitment scam.
