International Yoga Center Mantalai: Secy Tourism issues two-week deadline to complete project

Udhampur, Dec 15: Secretary to the Government, Tourism Department, J&K, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah on Friday conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Yoga and Wellness Center (International Yoga Center) in Manatalai. 
The visit aimed to assess the operationalization of the asset and expedite the progress of the International Yoga Center project under the Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP). The inspection covered various project components, including the Yoga Center, Wellness Spa & Ayurveda Complex, Tourists Facilitation Center, Dining Center, Eco log Huts, Helipad, Amphitheater, Landscaping, Parking area, Green Poly House, Meditation enclave, and more. 
The Secretary instructed NPCC officials to promptly complete all outstanding works and issued strict instructions regarding the quality and pace of finishing work in various components. Immediate actions were directed, emphasizing the completion of work within 15 days. Specific instructions were given to address all identified issues, deploy additional skilled manpower, and ensure that the work meets the highest standards of quality. 
“The International Yoga Center at the renowned site of Mantalai is a significant project that will contribute to the region’s tourism potential and wellness landscape. It holds national importance, and its completion with desired standards is a top priority. The identified deficiencies should be rectified promptly, with strict adherence to the stipulated timeline,” Shah said during the meeting. 
The Secretary was accompanied by tourism officials and committee members, including Amarjeet Singh, JKAS, Special Secretary, Tourism Department, Thakur Sher Singh, JKAS, Chief Executive Officer, Patnitop Development Authority, Parvaiz Naik, Sub Divisional Magistrate Chenani, Suresh Bharti, Executive Engineer, PW(R&B) Division Chenani; Representatives from JPDCL Udhampur, Jal Shakti Udhampur, NPCC, and the contractor.
