Katra, Feb 15: The two-day International Conference on Emerging Trends in Biosciences and Chemical Technology (ETBCT-2025) commenced at the School of Biotechnology, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra on Monday.
The conference gathered over 200 participants, including researchers, academicians, and industry professionals, to delve into the latest advancements in biosciences and chemical technology.
The event was inaugurated by Satish Sharma, Minister of Science and Technology, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, who underscored the crucial role of biodiversity in maintaining ecological balance. He encouraged active participation in conservation efforts through educational initiatives. Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, highlighted the conference’s importance as a platform for exploring innovations in science and technology. Prof. Ratna Chandra, Head of the School of Biotechnology and Organising Secretary, expressed gratitude during the vote of thanks. The conference features plenary and invited lectures by distinguished experts from around the globe, and covers themes such as Health Sciences, Molecular Biology, Nanotechnology, Environmental Sustainability, and more. Additionally, a workshop on skills in biosciences is being conducted to provide participants with hands-on experience.
