Amritsar, Mar 10: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Tarun Chugh on Sunday said the inter-faith centre that was mooted by the Modi government to be set up in the Guru Nanak Dev University here on the occasion of 550th Parkash Divas of Guru Nanak Dev ji would be completed soon.
Chugh led a delegation to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in Delhi and presented him with a memorandum for the release of funds allocated for the project.
While Rs 33.56 crores have already been released by the Centre, he requested the union minister to release the rest of the amount soon.
Chugh said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been endeavouring to spread the message of Guru Nanak Devi ji and other Sikh Gurus across the globe because the message of love for humanity propagated by the Gurus needed to be disseminated all over the world.
“The inter-faith centres on the pattern of the one coming up in the Guru Nanak Dev University would be set up at other places also in the near future,” he said.
