
Samba, May 16: The Inter Army Public Schools (Western Command) U-17 Girls Football Tournament was organized from May 14-16, 2026 with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
Five teams from various Army Public Schools of Western Command participated in the prestigious event. The participating teams were APS Kandrori, APS Ambala, APS Noida, APS Jammu Cantt and APS Tibri.
The tournament was conducted on a league basis and witnessed intense competition, remarkable teamwork and exceptional football skills displayed by all the participating teams. The matches reflected the spirit of discipline, determination and unity among the young players.
The Chairman of the school, Brig Shalabh Pun, interacted warmly with the teams and motivated the participants with his encouraging words.
The grand finale was played between APS Kandrori and APS Noida. The final match was highly thrilling and showcased outstanding performance, stamina and competitive spirit, keeping the spectators captivated throughout the game.
In a fiercely fought encounter, APS Noida emerged victorious with a score of 1(4)-1(2) and lifted the Champion’s Trophy. APS Kandrori despite a valiant effort and spirited performance, secured the Second position and earned appreciation for their remarkable journey to the finals. APS Ambala secured the Third position for their commendable performance in the tournament.
The three-day tournament served as a vibrant platform for young footballers to showcase their talent, discipline and sporting spirit. The tournament was conducted successfully under the able guidance of the school administration and the dedicated efforts of the organizing committee, officials and support staff.
The event concluded with a Prize Distribution Ceremony, where the winners and participants were felicitated with trophies, medals and certificates. The Principal, APS Samba congratulated all the teams for their wonderful performance and true sportsmanship.
