Srinagar, July 07: The Health and Medical Education Department on Friday appointed an inquiry officer to look into the alleged medical negligence that resulted in the amputation of the right foot of a patient at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.
“Sanction is hereby accorded to the appointment of Dr Shafqat Khan, Additional Mission Director, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, J&K as an inquiry officer to enquire into the complaint filed with regard to an alleged case of medical negligence at Govt. Medical College, Jammu,” the H&ME said in an order.
The inquiry officer, after hearing the complainant and concerned health institute/doctors in question, has been directed to submit its enquiry report along with specific recommendations to Administrative Department within 10 days for initiating the further course of action.
