Samba, May 19: Provincial President Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Jammu Rattan Lal Gupta on Friday accused the Union Territory administration of utter failure on all fronts, saying that major developments across the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir took place during the National Conference governance and the same has “nosedived virtually to nil during the incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) proxy governance in J&K”.
According to a statement, the senior NC leader said this while addressing the party workers’ meeting held in Samba. The meeting was organised by NC leader Mohinder Singh and presided over by Sudagar Chand Gupta District President Samba. Shri Rattan Lal Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion.
While the meeting discussed and deliberated upon the issues and problems being faced by the general public of Samba District, the main focus was on Panchayat and Local Bodies elections, the statement said.
Gupta while highlighting the achievements of the erstwhile NC government said, “It was during the NC rule that the industrial sector was established both at Samba and Bari Brahmana industrial areas as a result of which thousands of workers got jobs in these industries. He Dr Farooq Abdullah deserves full credit for ensuring that 90 percent of workers provided jobs in interest were locals only and 10 percent from outsiders.”
He lamented that “today the industrial sector in J&K is on the verge of closure due to wrong industrial policies of Central and UT government including GST department with workers being on roads”. He said that Samba’s industrial growth centre has been totally ignored by the present LG administration.
The senior NC leader added, “The youth of the region are facing utter despair as unemployment is at its peak having crossed all the limits. Recruitment scams have further marred their prospects of getting employed. The situation of the Health Department is no good too as it is totally in shambles. The situation can be well gauged from the fact that the department is headless with the post of Director Health lying vacant for a long. The direct fallout is that people are not getting adequate health facilities. Moreover, there is absolute anarchy in Ayush Department with people suffering on this count too.”
Asserting that the NC government alone is the solution to end the miseries of people, he directed the party cadre, especially the workers, to gear up for the upcoming Panchayat and Local Bodies elections.
