Ahead of the 78th Independence Day, the Indian Army on Wednesday held a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ from Col. Rinchen’s Memorial to the Hall of Fame in Leh, Ladakh.

Army personnel marched on the road, waving tricolour and singing patriotic songs ahead of the Independence Day commemoration.

The ‘Tiranga Yatra’ is part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranaga Abhiyan’ launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to instil the feeling of Nationalism by encouraging citizens to display the National flag at their homes.

Meanwhile, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) also organised a ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ walkathon in Srinagar.

Ajay Kumar Yadav, IG, Srinagar Sector CRPF said, “Given ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’, Srinagar Sector CRPF has organised a walkathon.

As part of this, CRPF jawans are participating in it. The motive of this ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ rally is to invoke a sense of respect for the Tiranga among people and give them a message. We are very happy to organise this.”

In Telangana, CRPF, as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’, organised a rally from Parade Ground in Chandrayan Gutta to Charminar in Hyderabad.

Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’ in Ahmedabad Gujarat where he said that ‘Abhiyan’ is not just a display of patriotism, but also a resolution to build a developed India by 2047.

“The ‘Har ghar Tiranga’ campaign started by PM Modi is not just an expression of patriotism, but it is a resolution to make a Viksit Bharat by 2047. We will enter the 78th year of Independence on August 15. Make sure that no house, building, office or vehicle remains without the tricolour,” Shah said.

In the 112th ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on July 28, Prime Minister Modi called upon all Indians to take part in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign to celebrate Independence Day.

‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign that forms part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. It was started in 2021 to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence.

The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and promote awareness about the Indian National Flag. (ANI)
