Baramulla, July 28: The Indian Army hosted the 1st edition of the Jhelum Half Marathon on Sunday, drawing participation from both civil and service teams from various forces. The event, which aimed to promote physical fitness and camaraderie, saw impressive performances across multiple categories.
Constable Hans Raj showcased exceptional skill and enthusiasm, securing 1st position in the 21.195 km half marathon open category. His outstanding performance was a highlight of the event.
In the age category 40+, Head Constable Reyaz Ahmad, who also served as a coach, claimed the 1st position in the 21.195 km half marathon, demonstrating remarkable endurance and expertise.
Constable Barkat Ali dominated the 10 km race, finishing in 1st place, while Constable Tahir Aziz emerged victorious in the 5 km event. Special Police Officer (SPO) Jasif Ahmad also delivered a strong performance, securing 2nd place in the 5 km race.
Other cross-country players also put forth commendable efforts, contributing to the event’s overall success. The hard work and dedication of all participants were evident, making this inaugural half marathon a memorable and inspiring event.
