Baramulla, May 30: Saying that India is leading the world in digital revolution, growth, and is set to become third largest economy in the world, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Tuesday said “we must aim higher and create an environment for excellence, so that J&K can collectively contribute in realising the dream of building our country as a global superpower,”
Under the visionary leadership of  Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Lt Governor shared the government’s comprehensive vision and ongoing reforms aimed at accelerating socio-economic growth across all districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a significant step towards bolstering the socio-economic growth of Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor today inaugurated a series of key infrastructure projects in north Kashmir’s Baramulla District.
The event witnessed the dedication of seven Custom Hiring Centres for farmers and nine Poly Green Houses for Self-Help Groups, aimed at empowering the agricultural community and fostering economic prosperity. LG Sinha also laid the foundation stone for various transformative initiatives.
The projects inaugurated by Lt Governor include Water Supply Schemes at Kreeri, Ushkura, Singhbagh and Cherdari and 6.3 MVA, 33/11 KV Receiving station Nehalpora, Pattan area of Baramulla.
The projects for which foundation stone was laid include Construction of Hostel block and Classroom Block for Government Degree College Uri, and installation of entry gate near Amargarh Bypass in Sopore and District Library Baramulla.
Addressing the gathering, Lt Governor Sinha emphasised the potential of these projects to not only bring about a remarkable transformation in Baramulla but also have a far-reaching impact throughout Jammu and Kashmir.
He underscored the importance of the Narbal-Tangmarg road’s upgradation, highlighting its contribution to strengthening connectivity.
In addition, LG Sinha extended his heartfelt congratulations to the people, public representatives, Deputy Commissioner, and the entire district administration of Baramulla for receiving the prestigious ‘Excellence in Public Service Administration’ award in the Aspirational District category.
“The award, conferred by the  Prime Minister Narendra Modi, recognises Baramulla’s outstanding efforts and progress. Over the years, Baramulla, an aspirational district, has emerged as a significant centre of economic importance,” LG said.
Lt Governor Sinha acknowledged the fulfilment of the citizens’ long-standing aspirations for an improved quality of life, attributing it to the concerted efforts made by various stakeholders.
“The focus on health, education, infrastructure, connectivity, and empowerment of women and youth has created a wide range of opportunities, benefiting all sections of society and bringing previously marginalised areas into the mainstream,” he further added.
The Lt Governor urged the active participation of PRI members and all stakeholders in effectively implementing the Holistic Agriculture Development Program and other government initiatives.
“Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) offers an opportunity to empower 3/4th population of J&K UT. We have to ensure that Kisan Sampark Abhiyan benefits more farmers and subsequent interventions lead to sustained growth and development,” he said while addressing the gathering.
Recognising the potential of the program to empower three-fourths of Jammu and Kashmir’s population, he stressed the importance of ensuring that the Kisan Sampark Abhiyan reaches more farmers, leading to sustained growth and development.
Speaking at the event, Safina Baig, DDC Chairperson of Baramulla, highlighted the developmental issues and district-specific demands, seeking the intervention of the Lt Governor for their early resolution.
Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, also shared insights into the transformative impact of the Holistic Agriculture Development Program on the lives of farmers in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Lt Governor concluded the event by distributing wheelchairs, tricycles, and medical aids to beneficiaries, showcasing the administration’s commitment to improving the well-being and accessibility of the community.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla, along with senior officials from the Civil Administration, Police, PRI members, farmers and people.
