Jammu, Feb 10: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri Friday said that those opposed to unfurling Tricolour in Jammu and Kashmir or doing away with redundant laws are now trying to protect the illegal encroachers of the UT and forest land by arriving at the Capital to protest.
He said this act of opposition leaders is indicative enough that such political leaders never wanted order in the system of governance and allowed lawlessness to prevail in the erstwhile state.
Suri said, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti’s unrelenting support to encroachers, illegal occupants or land grabbers is enough to understand how these leaders had unleashed a rein of lawlessness and made Jammu and Kashmir a jungle where everyone was having a free run when it came to grabing land, occupying state or forest land and even building shops and houses on the land of development authorities.
The BJP leader said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi established that the days of such leaders or divisive and adverse policies are over. The Prime Minister made it clear by stating that peace is prevailing in J&K, separatists are gone forever, Tricolour is unfurling everywhere and tourists besides investors are looking towards the new, potentially-viable Union Territory.
Raman Suri asked the youth to reap benefits of this atmosphere which is conducive enough to progress and contribute to nation building.
He said, Kashmir of serenity, when tourists used to flock there and enjoy every season, young boys and girls had ample opportunities, peace prevailed and no one ever created any trouble for anyone,is now back.
“The leaders who created an unrest in Kashmir, made militancy a monster, encouraged separatism at the cost of lives of youngsters and stalled progress of youth are themselves finding no space in the political arena now”.
The recently concluded ‘Tiranga Yatra,’ he said, has become a benchmark of peace for opposition where every leader, who once said that no one will unfurl Tricolour, walked miles to see the Indian Flag unfurl at historic Lal Chowk.
