New Delhi, Feb 09: Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of Public Sector Undertakings under the administration of the Ministry of Power has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) valued at INR 500 croreswith key state bodies and industry partners at the India Energy Week 2024. The focus of the MoUs signed during the event is to formulate a framework for longstanding collaboration in key areas of energy efficiency.
Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh (LAHDC), and Vidhya Pratishthan have partnered with EESL. The exchanged MoUs, worth INR 300 crores and INR 200 crores respectively, during the event, focus on crucial aspects of energy efficiency, including lighting, clean cooking, space heating, renewables, e-mobility, cooling, and consultancy.
These agreements lay the foundation for executing projects that implement energy-efficient measures across various facilities, regions, and communities. The MoU with LAHDC includes space heating solutions across various locations in the Union Territory of Ladakh, using innovative heat pump technology. This is a follow-up to the recent signing of the company’s MoU for the distribution of 2000 induction cookstoves in Ladakh, which demonstrates EESL’s commitment to comprehensive energy solutions in the region.
Vishal Kapoor, Chief Executive Officer, EESL, said, “At the India Energy Week 2024, this joint association between EESL and our esteemed partner organizations marks a strategic step forward in our collective pursuit of energy efficiency and sustainability. Through these partnerships, we are setting the groundwork for transformative projects that will significantly contribute to India’s journey towards an energy-efficient future. In line with the vision set forth by the G20 Presidency and COP’28, this collaborative initiative aims to propel India towards its ambitious carbon neutrality goals.”
India Energy Week is India’s largest and only all-encompassing energy exhibition and conference, bringing together the entire energy value chain. EESL actively participated in the event, showcasing its remarkable programmes and initiatives aimed at revolutionizing the energy sector and fostering sustainable development. The EESL booth featured cutting-edge energy-efficient appliances, including the induction cookstoves, rechargeable inverter bulb, 9-watt 3-star LED Bulb, e-bicycles, 5-Star rated BLDC ceiling fan, super-efficient air conditioners, and tube lights.
