Jammu, May 22: Exuding confidence in winning the Lok Sabha polls, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Working President Raman Bhalla on Wednesday asserted that the INDIA bloc will form the next government with the support of more than 350 Members of Parliaments (MPs).
In a programme of gratitude towards his voters and supporters at Gadigarh, Bhalla expressed certainty in the defeat of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “We are confident that the BJP will fail to form the next government. The Congress-led INDIA bloc will secure a comfortable victory. The way people from different corners of the country are joining hands with the INDIA bloc, I see no scope for the BJP’s return and Narendra Modi can’t become the PM for the third consecutive term,” he said.
Responding to PM Modi’s call for 400 seats, the Congress leader remarked, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi never keeps his promises. His claims often fall flat. Even the BJP seems aware that they are far from reaching their target. According to our calculations, we are forming the government with the support of more than 350 MPs. The BJP misleads people with unfulfilled promises, leading them to seek change through the INDIA alliance.”
He expressed confidence that the electorate will bring about change to restore prosperity, saying they are disillusioned with BJP policies. He affirmed that Congress is dedicated to improving the lives of all citizens through various welfare programs and initiatives outlined in the Congress Nyay Pattar.
Bhalla urged voters in Rajouri Poonch to support the INDIA alliance candidate, saying they will ensure restoration of statehood, land and job security and address various issues affecting the people of J&K.
The JKPCC leader said Congress is committed to equality and delivering a high quality of life to all citizens. “BJP’s campaign is centred around one individual, while Congress’s focus is on party history and achievements,” he said.
“BJP failed to address youth unemployment,” he said and criticised the Agniveer scheme. He promised its revocation and implementation of new policies to benefit the youth and marginalised groups. “There would be a change in government at the Centre and in the next assembly election, Congress, NC and other secular parties will form the government,” he predicted.
