Jammu, June 02: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president Vikar Rasool Wani on Sunday rejected the results of exit polls and expressed confidence in the party winning both Lok Sabha seats in the Jammu region with “impressive” margins.
In a press conference held here, Wani asserted, “Congress is poised to win both Lok Sabha seats in the Jammu region when the counting takes place on June 4. The people are seeking a change in the Modi government.”
He said that the INDIA alliance, which includes the Congress, is expected to secure victory in all five Lok Sabha seats of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. “Our internal survey indicates a lead in various assembly constituencies such as Nagrota and RS Pura,” he said.
Dismissing the credibility of exit polls, the JKPCC leader accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of sponsoring them to mislead the public. “On June 04, when the counting takes place, the INDIA alliance will emerge victorious,” he affirmed.
Vikar expressed confidence in Congress candidate Raman Bhalla winning from the Jammu-Reasi Lok Sabha seat and Lal Singh securing victory from the Udhampur-Doda-Kishtwar Lok Sabha seat, both with convincing margins.
“The INDIA alliance will sweep all five Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir,” he asserted.
