Jammu, Jan 29: The Northern Railway’s Jammu Division has extended the operation of Special Reserved Train No. 04081/04082 between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra in view of continued passenger rush and high demand.

Railway officials said the special train, which was earlier scheduled to operate till late January, will now run for additional trips to accommodate increasing travel during the ongoing snowfall season in Kashmir. The service has already been extended several times due to its popularity among passengers.

As per the revised schedule, Train No. 04081 (New Delhi–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra) will run on January 30 and 31, 2026, while Train No. 04082 (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–New Delhi) will operate on January 31, 2026, and February 1, 2026.

Officials said the special train has recorded near full occupancy during previous runs, indicating strong demand from tourists and regular passengers alike. The service has benefited travelers not only from Jammu and Kashmir but also from major stations along the route, including Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, and Ambala Cantt.

With road and air connectivity often affected during winter due to snowfall, the rail service has emerged as an important travel option for passengers.

Railway authorities have advised travelers to check train schedules and running status through Dial 139 and the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) before undertaking their journey.
