Srinagar, Dec 18: Reaffirming its commitment to employee welfare and preventive healthcare, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) organised a comprehensive Health and Wellness Camp at its Head Office in Karan Nagar, in collaboration with Noora Hospital, Srinagar.
The camp was formally inaugurated by the Commissioner, SMC, Mr. Faz Lul Haseeb, IAS, and was also attended by Ms. Nuzhat Qureshi, JKAS, Joint Commissioner (Administration), Mr. Suhail ul Islam, JKAS, Joint Commissioner, along with other senior officers of the Corporation. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers and staff across various wings of SMC, underscoring the Corporation’s strong institutional focus on employee well-being.
The programme was meticulously planned and executed under the overall supervision of Dr. Fauzia Habib, Health Officer, SMC. Through effective coordination with the medical team from Noora Hospital, she ensured the smooth and efficient conduct of the camp, with her leadership playing a key role in its success.
A team of specialist doctors, supported by trained paramedical staff from Noora Hospital, provided medical consultations, health screenings and preliminary clinical assessments. The initiative facilitated early detection of potential health concerns while also promoting awareness about preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyle practices among employees.
Interacting with staff, the Commissioner appreciated the initiative and commended Dr. Fauzia Habib for her sustained efforts in strengthening employee health services. He reiterated that the well-being of employees, particularly sanitation workers, remains a top priority for the Corporation and assured that such health and wellness programmes would be organised regularly.
