SHG & Women Entrepreneurs mela conducted at Pouni

Reasi, Dec 30: The Employment Department Reasi in collaboration with the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), organised a Self-Help Group (SHG) and Women Entrepreneurs Mela at Dak Bungalow, Pouni with the objective of promoting women entrepreneurship and generating awareness about the employment-oriented schemes among the youth.

According to a statement issued here, as the key focus of the programme, detailed awareness was imparted on Mission YUVA, highlighting its objectives, eligibility criteria and the opportunities it offers to youth and women for setting up self-employment and entrepreneurial ventures. Participants were encouraged to leverage the scheme for sustainable livelihood generation and economic self-reliance.

The mela witnessed enthusiastic participation from women SHGs and local entrepreneurs. Several departmental stalls were set up to showcase schemes and initiatives of different departments. The public was sensitised about schemes including Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PMSYM), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and the Labour Card Scheme of the Labour Department.

A major highlight of the event was the presentation of success stories of women entrepreneurs which inspired participants and showcased the transformative impact of government schemes at the grassroots level.

The mela proved to be a significant initiative towards women empowerment, promotion of entrepreneurship and dissemination of information on key employment and social security schemes.

The programme was attended by Assistant Director Employment, District Programme Manager NRLM, Block Programme Manager NRLM and other officers and officials of the Labour and Employment Departments.
