In a significant development, Sarwar Mufti, the cousin of former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, dealt a major setback to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) by officially joining the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) in Bijbehara, Anantnag.

The pivotal moment occurred during a well-attended function in Bijbehara town, where DPAP president Ghulam Nabi Azad presided over Sarwar Mufti's induction into the party.
