Srinagar, Nov 26: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Srinagar, SKUAST-Kashmir, celebrated the Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas) today on 26th November 2025 (Wednesday) to commemorate the adoption of constitution of India by the constituent assembly of India on 26th November 1949 which came into effect two months later w.e.f., 26th January 1950 with patriotic fervour and institutional commitment, in line with the directions issued by ICAR Headquarters for nationwide observance of this important national event under the ages of Directorate of Extension.
According to a statement issued here, the programme began with the collective reading of the Preamble at 11:00 AM, which witnessed enthusiastic participation of farmers, Agripreneurs, self help groups, extension personnel, public representatives from civil society besides KVK staff/offficials, students, and other stakeholders. The commemoration event was graced by Prof. and Head KVK Srinagar Dr . S. A. Simnani along with Haji Abdul Rahim Rah president Iqbal Sabzi Mandi Batamaloo Srinagar and sarpanches of adjoining area including Mehraj Ud Din Dar. At the outset Dr I. A. Mir (scientist) welcomed the participants for this Mega event of national significance.
On this occasion, Dr. Shamim readout the the preamble pledge taking oath to the participants at 11:00 am to constitute India into a sovereign, socialist, secular democratic and republic and to secure all its citizens Justise liberty, equality and eternity among its citizens. He further enlightened the audience with the historical background for celebrating 26th Nov each year as the Samvidhan Divas as per the notification issued by the Ministry of social Justice and empowerment on 19th Nov 2015 to promote constitution values among its citizens. During the day long event, KVK Srinagar organized scientist farmer interaction conducted by Dr. Saima Paul, Dr. Rukhsar, Dr Haseeb to create awareness on national flagship programs (VKSA, HADP, Swach Bharat, JKCIP, NMEO, PMDDKY), and demonstrated the protocal for registering and login of these schemes. These activities were aimed at enhancing public engagement and deepening understanding of India’s democratic ethos.
