Jammu, Nov 25: The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has achieved an all-time high in revenue collection, reaching Rs 10-11 crore through its ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyan’ initiative, primarily via door-to-door garbage collection across Jammu’s municipal wards.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of JMC, Devansh Yadav, said, “Currently, Rs 10-11 crore is being collected from door-to-door garbage services. Our target is to reach Rs 15 crore this year, which would set a new record for the civic body in J&K.”
The CEO said that 30% of JMC’s services have been digitised, enhancing efficiency and transparency. He added that sanitation workers meeting their targets would be honoured by the civic body.
“The revenue from door-to-door garbage collection is the highest ever in J&K,” Yadav said, expressing confidence in surpassing the Rs 15 crore target by year’s end.
The CEO JMC said the success is due to positive public response, noting that residents only need to pay Rs 100 online for garbage collection services in Jammu.
Yadav further highlighted the public support and the importance of continued cooperation to sustain this growth.
