Dr Abdul Majid Wani conferred International Shiksham Award

Srinagar, Dec 24: Dr. Abdul Majid Wani, Managing Director of Quality Healthcare Hospital, Drugmulla, Kupwara, has been conferred the International Shiksham Award – Saksham International Awards 2025 (Entrepreneur Excellence Awards & Rural Healthcare) at the Saksham Summit held in Dubai last week.
According to a statement issued here, the award, presented by Life Champions Ecosystem, recognises Dr. Wani’s contribution to strengthening rural and peripheral healthcare infrastructure, particularly in the border district of Kupwara. Officials said the honour acknowledges his role in establishing quality medical services in a geographically remote and sensitive region of Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. Wani is the founder of Quality Healthcare Hospital, a 50-bedded, multi-specialty, NABH-accredited hospital located along the National Highway at Drugmulla. The facility is among the first of its kind in rural Jammu and Kashmir and provides advanced diagnostic and treatment services that were earlier largely unavailable in the district.
Speaking after receiving the award, Dr. Wani said strengthening healthcare services in peripheral areas is essential for ensuring equitable access to medical care. He stressed that improving rural healthcare infrastructure is critical for balanced regional development.
The Award was formally conferred by Dr. Sarsang Nahajan and Rabeeca Dahal in the presence of delegates from various countries.
