Srinagar, Jan 28: The Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Srinagar, has appealed to residents of the district to generate their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), a secure 14-digit digital health ID that enables paperless and seamless treatment across government hospitals.
In a public appeal, the CMO said that ABHA allows citizens to safely store their health records, access laboratory reports from home, and avail healthcare services without long queues through the scan-and-share facility available at health centres.
The CMO also urged the public to download and actively use the JK Sehat App, describing it as a comprehensive digital healthcare platform. The app offers online registration and appointment booking from Primary Health Centres to tertiary hospitals, access to 102 and 108 ambulance services, and home-based healthcare services including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, paramedics, attendants, and caregivers.
Highlighting additional features, the CMO said that JK Sehat provides teleconsultation, AI-based health chatbot support, medicine delivery with cash-on-delivery, counselling services, seasonal health alerts, blood bank availability, immunisation tracking, and contact details of healthcare professionals. The app also offers digital resources for medical students and healthcare professionals.
Under the Ayushman Bharat Golden Card, each eligible family is entitled to ₹5 lakh annual cashless health coverage. Senior citizens aged 70 years and above are eligible for an additional ₹5 lakh coverage under the Vay Vandana Card, separate from the family limit, raising the total coverage to ₹10 lakh. The benefits can be availed at empanelled government and private hospitals across the country for more than 2,000 identified diseases.
The CMO further informed that dedicated health teams have been deployed across Srinagar district to assist citizens in availing these services, while individuals can also generate ABHA IDs independently through digital platforms.
Appealing for public cooperation, the CMO said that adoption of these digital health initiatives would enhance convenience, efficiency, and quality of patient care. The appeal has been issued in public interest for better healthcare delivery in the district.
