CM Omar expresses grief over Udhampur bus tragedy, assures full support to victims

Srinagar, April 20: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday expressed deep sorrow over the tragic road accident involving a passenger bus travelling from Ramnagar to Udhampur, which has resulted in multiple casualties.

In his condolence message posted on X, the Chief Minister extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the mishap. He described the incident as deeply distressing and said the loss of lives has caused immense grief.

CM Abdullah assured that the government stands firmly with the affected families during this difficult time and that all necessary assistance is being extended to the victims. He also directed authorities to ensure proper medical care for the injured and support for those impacted.

"While no amount of financial assistance can ever make up for the irreparable loss of lives in the tragic Udhampur road accident, as an immediate succour, the Chief Minister has announced immediate relief from the CM Relief Fund: ₹2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased, ₹1 lakh to those seriously injured, and ₹25,000 to those with minor injuries," he added in a post on X.
