Implementation of Mission Yuva : DC calls for timely verification, swift sanctioning of eligible cases in Sgr

Srinagar, June 23: In order to review the progress on the implementation of Mission Yuva, a meeting was held here under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo Monday.

The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, General Manager DIC, Hamida Akhtar, SDM West, Irfan Bahadur, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Umar Gulzar, Deputy Director Employment, Dr. Sheeba, DSEO, Shah Ismail Bangroo, Purnima Kakru from NABARD, LDM, Nilofer Jan and Officers from EDI, NABARD, NRLM, Agriculture and other concerned Departments.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed appraisal of the key activities in implementation of the Mission Yuva initiative in Srinagar District since its inception aimed at ensuring proper handholding and accessible support for aspiring youth to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment ecosystem in the district. On the occasion, the DC stressed on conducting an impactful awareness campaign for one week in all Gram Panchayats to identify and cover the eligible youth under the initiative. Similarly, the DC asked for launching a comprehensive IEC campaign in all Municipal Wards in next two weeks under the scheme. The DC underscored the importance of seamless coordination among various Departments for effective implementation of the scheme. He set a clear timeline for verification of the applications, DPR formulations and simultaneous uploading of the cases on the designated portal by the respective Department. The DC emphasised conducting DLIC meetings on a weekly basis for approval of the cases with timely disbursement by the Banks. Stressing adherence to the scheme’s guidelines in letter and spirit, the DC highlighted the importance of continuous monitoring to enhance the initiative’s impact and foster a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in Srinagar.
