A smuggler was on Saturday apprehended while ferrying forest wood from Romeshi range of forests in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Officials from forest department said that 2 horses used in the commission of crime were also seized.
The officials said that after receiving specific information about timber smugglers in the outskirts of district pulwama , a Joint party of Sangerwani, Namblan, Keller and Zampathri blocks led by block forest officer Sangerwani laid a naka at a particular spot during which two horses loaded with illicit timber were seized and a smuggler was apprehend who was handed over to Police Station Keller.
The officials said that a case has been registered in PS Keller under relevant sections of IPC and IFA.
