Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday said that it has recovered 7 logs of illicit timber and arrested two persons for involved in cutting down of forest timber at wagoora area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A Spokesperson said that Baramulla Police under the supervision of Khalid Ashraf-JKPS, SDPO Kreeri assisted by PSI Sameer Ahmad, IC PP Wagoora arrested two persons namely Mudasir Ahmad Mir S/O Ghulam Nabi Mir & Farooq Ahmad Mir S/O Souf Din Mir both residents of Saterseran Wagoora who are being involved in cutting down illicit forest timber and were selling at higher rates.
“7 logs of Illicit forest timber were recovered from their possession in Saterseran Wagooraduring routine patrolling who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully by the police party”, he said.
Police said that Case under sections of Indian Forest Act registered in Police Station Kreeri and investigation set in motion.
