Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday arrested three smugglers and recovered 60 CFTs of illicit timber in Uri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A Police spokesperson said that Police under the supervision of Shokat Ali-JKPS, SDPO Uri assisted by Inspr Imtiyaz Ahmad, SHO PS Uri arrested three smugglers namely Mohd Afzal Bhat S/O Ab Majeed Bhat, Shabir Ahmad Bhat S/O Ab Majeed & Naseer Ahmad Bhat all residents of Mothal Hanthlanga Uri who are being involved in cutting down illicit forest timber* and were selling at higher rates.
“Illicit forest timber measuring about 60 CFTs were recovered from their possession in Mothal Hathlanga Uri”, he said.
Police said that case under sections of Indian Forest Act registered in Police Station Uri and investigation set in motion.
