IIM Jammu to hold 8-day holistic orientation program

Jammu, July 23: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu will be holding a holistic eight-day Orientation Program for the 4th Batch of Ph.D. (Full time) (2023-26), 2nd Batch of Ph.D. (Working Professionals) (2023–26), 8th Batch of MBA (2023-25), 2nd Batch of MBA (HA&HM) (2023-25), 3rd Batch of EMBA (2023-25)and 1st of EMBA (CA&M) (2023-25) from July 24 to 31 at its state-of-the-art permanent campus at Jagti, Jammu.
The idea associated with this orientation program is to acquaint the incoming students with the culture, academic opportunities, ethos, and general rules of IIM Jammu, the institute said, adding that the programme will help in facilitating a welcoming environment for the new aspiring students and their families to meet and have open communication with the faculty, staff, senior students, and all key activity heads of the Institute under one roof. 
During the orientation program, each day will commence at 6:00 am with ‘Maximize Happiness and Mindfulness’ sessions conducted by Mr. Sahil Mehra, Yoga Guru. It is imperative to build strength, awareness as well as harmony in both mind and body.  The orientation also will have a session titled “The Path Less Travelled: Embark on Meaningful Learning Journey” by Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha, Delhi.
The programme will be formally inaugurated on July 24, Monday. Dr. Milind Kamble, Chairman, BoG, IIM Jammu, will preside over the function and deliver the presidential address. Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, will deliver the welcome address. Prof. Manoj Singh Gaur, Director, IIT Jammu, and Prof. (Dr.) Shakti Gupta, Director, AIIMS Jammu, will also deliver their welcome address.
Top bureaucrats and industry speakers are also invited to address the new batch and motivate them for their academic journey at IIM Jammu, including Anand Kripalu, MD & Global CEO, EPL Limited (Blackstone), Dr. Vijaysinh. S. Gambhire, President & Director, The Sirpur Paper Mills Limited, Dr. Suresh T Salunke, CEO Tata Precision Industries, Lalit Kumar Naik, Director, Noveltech Feeds Pvt. Ltd., Anshul Garg, CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, J&K, Shiv Anant Tayal, MD, JKPDCL, Mukesh Singh, ADGP, Jammu Zone, Lt. Gen Sandeep Jain, Corps Commander, Dr. Harbaksh Singh, Chief Medical Officer, J&K.
The prominent speakers and leading names from the corporates ranging from Sumit Dutta, Chief Business Officer, BlueMedix, Shibani Priyadarshini, Talent Management Head India, Novo Nordisk, (Group A) Nikhil Davda, Senior General Manager (Head Marketing & Product), Mahindra Lifespace Developers, Vishal Thakur, Deputy VP – (Group A) HR, Tata Capital, Debargha Deb, National Manager Sales HR and Campus Lead, Dabur India Ltd., Suchitra Karumanchi, Associate Director HR, Elanco, Swati Jain, Vice President – EXL Analytics, EXL Services, Alok Jha, Head – Operations, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Tech Mahindra from the industry are expected to attend the gala orientation event. 
The orientation programme will also feature various interactive and enriching sessions by Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics and other faculty of IIM Jammu.
