IGNOU to hold Regional Convocation in Sgr on March 5

11800 degrees to be awarded
Srinagar, Feb 22: Indira Gandhi National Open University is one of the largest Open University in the India and first ranking in the Distance Education Category of NIRF ranking, IGNOU is scheduled to celebrate its 38th Convocation on March 5 at IGNOU Headquarters, New Delhi where Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan will be the chief guest. The same function will be simultaneously held at Tagore Hall Srinagar duly organised by Regional Centre Srinagar where 11800 students will receive their degrees.
This momentous occasion will bring together students, faculty members, and distinguished guests to commemorate the academic achievements of IGNOU students. The convocation ceremony will be a testament to the University’s commitment to providing quality education and empowering students to achieve their goals. IGNOU has been a pioneer in the field of open and distance learning and Online Learning, offering a wide range of academic programs that cater to the diverse needs of students. “We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone occasion with our students, Coordinators, and esteemed guests,” said Dr. A.H. Rizvi, Regional Director. The 38th Convocation is a testament to our University’s dedication to academic excellence and student success. The convocation ceremony will include the conferment of degrees, diplomas, and certificates to students who have successfully completed their programmes under Regional Centre Srinagar.
IGNOU conducts the admission process every year in two sessions, i.e. January and July. At present the admission process for the January 2025 session is going on till February 28, 2025. IGNOU offers a total of 316 programmes in various disciplines out of which this January 2025 session is proud to launch seven new programs in various disciplines, which will respond to the changing needs of the industry and enhance the career opportunities of the students. The newly introduced programs are MA in Environmental and Occupational Health, BA in Tourism and Travel Management, Education, PG Diploma in Tribal Studies, Environmental and Occupational Health, Waste Management etc.
