Srinagar, Jul 03: Inspector General, Kashmir Frontier, Border Security Force (BSF) Ashok Yadav Wednesday reviewed the operational readiness of the force, deployed along the Pahalgam axis in south Kashmir for the Amarnath Yatra.
A BSF Spokesman said that IG BSF reviewed the operational readiness of the BSF troops deployed along the Pahalgam axis for #AmarnathYatra. He also interacted with the troops & inspected the security & surveillance grid to ensure coordinated alertness of the ROP for smooth & safe pilgrimage.
The 52-day Amarnath Yatra began on Saturday on the twin tracks of the Nunwan-Pahalgam route in Anantnag district and the Baltal route in Ganderbal district.
The spokesman said that BSF is committed to providing every possible assistance to the pilgrims to ensure their successful AmarnathYatra. Mobile medical teams of BSF are reaching out to the pilgrims in need of medical assistance and helping them to resume their journey with smiles on their faces, he said.
“We are committed to ensure that every part of the AmarnathYatra route is sanitized before the movement of pilgrims. The BSF Bomb disposal squad carried out security sanitization of the Yatra route to ensure the safety and security of all pilgrims,” the spokesman said.
Earlier this week, Y B Khurania IPS, SDG (WC) conducted a comprehensive review of the security arrangements on Baltal axis for the upcoming AmarnathYatra. He interacted with BSF troops & briefed them to ensure security measures are enhanced to guarantee a peaceful pilgrimage.
