Kupwara, Dec 09: The Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Project Kupwara on Monday organised a grand awareness program at Mughalpora village to educate the local community about various welfare schemes offered by the department. The event witnessed participation from adolescent girls, pregnant women, pre schooling children, and other locals from the area.
During the program, District Program Officer (DPO), CDPO, Kupwara, Hakeem Tanvir, delivered detailed insights into the ICDS schemes, focusing on their benefits for adolescent girls and pregnant women. The attendees were informed about schemes aimed at ensuring nutrition, health, and financial assistance for women.
Tanvir, highlighted that pregnant women registered with local ICDS centers are eligible to receive financial assistance of ₹5,000 upon successful completion of pregnancy. He also addressed menstrual health issues, providing valuable guidance to adolescent girls on overcoming challenges related to menstrual hygiene.
The program was coordinated by ICDS Supervisor Kupwara, Syed Raja Amin, who further informed the attendees about the benefits of these schemes. He urged the participants to connect with local ICDS workers to gain a deeper understanding of the department’s offerings.
Speaking at the event, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Kupwara Mujeebul-haq stated that ICDS is not limited to providing nutrition but encompasses a wide range of services that can benefit people in multiple ways. He encouraged the attendees to regularly engage with ICDS officials to maximize their advantages from the schemes.
The participants were assured that the ICDS department is committed to supporting the health and well-being of women and children in the district. They were urged to take proactive steps to register and avail the benefits provided by the department.
