ICC Men’s ODI World Cup Trophy makes enchanting journey to Pangong Tso Lake in Ladakh

Leh, July 10: The prestigious trophy of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup, scheduled to commence on October 5 this year, reached the breathtaking Pangong Tso Lake and the nearby Shanti Stupa in the picturesque union territory of Ladakh. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary, Jay Shah, shared captivating glimpses of the trophy through snapshots.
Jay Shah took to Twitter, expressing his excitement about the upcoming tournament and the trophy tour. He tweeted, “From the mesmerizing #Pangong Lake in #Leh to the schools of Mumbai, Kolkata, the vibrant streets of India are set to witness a spectacular journey as the #ICCWorldCup2023 Trophy Tour begins! This tournament of a lifetime will inspire a generation.”
The trophy tour commenced on June 27 last month and has already reached several locations, including West Bengal. The tour will further extend to countries such as Kuwait, Bahrain, Malaysia, USA, Nigeria, Uganda, France, Italy, and the host country, India.
Spanning over 46 days, the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 will feature a total of 48 matches, culminating in the highly anticipated final at the Motera Stadium on November 19. This global event is expected to ignite the passion and enthusiasm of cricket enthusiasts worldwide, leaving a lasting impact on the younger generation.
The presence of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup trophy amidst the enchanting backdrop of Pangong Tso Lake in Ladakh not only adds to the tour’s allure but also highlights the diversity and beauty of India as a cricket-loving nation. As the trophy continues its journey, it will serve as a symbol of inspiration, uniting fans from different regions and backgrounds, and fostering a sense of excitement for the thrilling tournament that lies ahead.
