Shopian, July 19: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb on Wednesday convened a meeting of officers to review arrangements to be put in place by different departments for the celebration of Independence Day 2023.
During the meeting, the DPL Shopian was decided as the main venue where the tricolour will be hoisted by the chief guest followed by the March Past which will be presented by contingents from District Police, CRPF, Forest Protection Force, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC and NSS cadets.
Threadbare discussion was held with regard to the security arrangements, traffic regulations, seating arrangements, full dress rehearsal, decoration, PAS, cultural activities, power and water supply, transport arrangements, sanitation, medicare facilities, invitation cards, barricading, participation, etc at the venue of the function.
The DC directed all officers to make fool-proof arrangements at all levels in advance for the National event to make it a great success. He instructed the officers to ensure all related arrangements are made well in advance and work in close coordination for the smooth and impactful conduct of Independence Day celebrations across the district.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Yar Ali Khan, DPO, ACD, ACR CEO, CMO, ACP, ASP and other district and sectoral officers of the district.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir also reviewed the arrangements for upcoming Independence Day celebrations in the district. The meeting was informed that the main function will be held at Qamaria Stadium, Ganderbal where the national flag will be unfurled by the chief guest followed by the march past presented by contingents drawn from District Police, CRPF, Armed Police, NCC, PTS Manigam, Forest Protection Force and students of various educational institutions. Cultural programs will also be presented by the students during the function.
The meeting reviewed the status of arrangements threadbare including reparation and consolidation of the main venue ground, podium, security, seating, transportation, parking, electricity, refreshment, medicare and availability of ambulance besides deployment of fire tenders and sanitation measures.
The DC, while highlighting the importance of the Independence Day, stressed the concerned officers to finalize all the arrangements before 13th August, the day of full dress rehearsal.
The meeting also discussed the illumination plan of government buildings and it was also decided that flag hoisting shall be ensured on all government buildings in the district.
Meanwhile, the DC directed the concerned to ensure that all arrangements are put in place timely for the celebration of Independence Day at Sub Division, Block and Panchayat levels.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Mehraj-u-din Shah; ACR, CPO, CEO SDA; SE R&B, CEO, Executive Engineers of various wings, EO Municipality, ARTO and other concerned were present in the meeting.
