Hybrid terrorist held in Hajin Bandipora

Srinagar, Nov 05: The Jammu and Kashmir Police Saturday claimed to arrested hybrid terrorist of Lasker-e-Taiba (LeT) in Hajin area of north Kashmir Bandipora district.
A police spokesman said Bandipora Police received specific information regarding movement of terrorists of LeT in Check Chandergeer area of Hajin.
Following the inputs, police along with 45 BN CRPF and 13 RR Army laid a joint naka at Check Chandergeer Hajin.
The spokesperson said during the search of pedestrians and vehicles one suspected person tried to conceal his identity on seeing the naka party. 
The accused tried to flee from the spot but was tactfully apprehended.
 On his personal search, Police recovered 01 hand grenade and 03 AK 47 live rounds from his possession.
The arrested terrorist disclosed his identity as Mehraj –u-Din Rather Alias Abu Hanzla, s/o Manzoor Ahmad Rather R/o SK Bala Hajin.
“During preliminary enquiry, the arrested terrorist disclosed that he is an active member of LeT terrorist outfit. He was working on the directions of Pakistan handler alias Babar bhai since one year and was assigned the task of reviving local terrorism in Bandipora particularly in Hajin Area.”
As per Police spokesman, there is no local terrorist active in Bandipora district.
He was also assigned the task of attacking security forces, non-local labourers and PRIs. 
“Moreover he was also directed by his handlers to manage and paste anti-national posters in different areas of Bandipora district to instill fear in the minds of the general public,” the spokesman said.
As per Police, Pak handler alias Babar Bhai also motivated him to recruit local youth in terrorist ranks in order to disturb peace and tranquility in the area. 
The police spokesperson said that after the arrest of the accused, an FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station  Hajin and further investigation has been taken up.
