Srinagar, Jan 18: Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Saturday applauded Kashmir’s religious leaders for assembling to address the recent attempts by some miscreants to hurt religious sentiments and create sectarian divisions in society. He expressed hope that the message conveyed during today’s meeting of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) will not only serve as a strong warning to the miscreants but also resonate with people of all sects, inspiring everyone to stand united for harmony and togetherness.
Altaf Bukhari wrote on his X handle, “It is quite relieving that prominent religious leaders and scholars from all sects have gathered today in Srinagar to take cognizance of the recent attempts by some miscreants to hurt religious sentiments, spread hatred, and create sectarian divisions in the valley. The religious leaders have taken several decisions to ensure no such attempts are made in the future. They have also decided to form a joint committee to keep an eye on such matters.”
He further said, “There is no doubt that our Ulmas hold profound and far-reaching influence over the hearts and minds of the masses, and they are in a position to foster unity and harmony within society.”
“Hopefully, the message conveyed during today’s Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) meeting will serve as a strong warning to the miscreants, deeply resonate with the masses, and inspire everyone to stand together in harmony,” Bukhari added.
