Srinagar, Feb 22: The Joint Director (JD) Agriculture (inputs) Kashmir Farooq Ahmad Bhat on Wednesday inaugurated a training programme on ‘development of fodder resources’ in the UT of J&K.
Addressing the participants, JD Agriculture highlighted the importance of fodder crop to the overall development of the agriculture sector.
He said because of the varied agro-climatic and soil conditions there is enormous potential for the cultivation of fodder crops and development of fodder resources in the region.
The JD said that the department has already taken many initiatives for the promotion of fodder cultivation in different district of Kashmir division wherein the latest technologies in this field are made available to the concerned farmers. “Under the holistic document special focus has been shifted towards the fodder cultivation.”
He asked the concerned officers of allied departments to work in coordination for the successful implementation of projects under holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors.
During the program, threadbare discussions were held on fodder resources and various ideas and suggestions were put forward by the participants from the allied departments.
Joint Director Apiculture and Mushroom Tabassum Naz, Senior Officers of agriculture and allied departments were present in the training program.
