The festival of colours, Holi, was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the Kashmir Valley, as people defied the intermittent rainfall and chilly weather to mark the occasion.
The areas in Srinagar city like Indra Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Rajbagh, and Rainawari, along with other districts of the valley, witnessed vibrant celebrations, reflecting the community’s spirit and unity.
Despite the rain, people came out on the streets with colours and music, applying colour on each other and dancing to traditional songs. The streets echoed with joy and laughter as both young and elderly participated in the celebrations.
“Rain couldn’t stop us from celebrating Holi. It added to the fun and made the festival more memorable,” said Karan from Indra Nagar.
In Jawahar Nagar, families gathered in open spaces to enjoy the festivities. “Holi is a festival of unity and love. Rain only made it more exciting,” said Raju.
Meanwhile, the authorities ensured smooth traffic movement and security arrangements during the celebrations to avoid any untoward incidents—(KNO)
