SRINAGAR, JUNE 29: The Health & Medical Education Department has established a dedicated ‘SKIMS Cell’ at the Civil Secretariat to streamline administrative processes for Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, and SKIMS Medical College, Bemina.
This initiative follows a decision by the SKIMS Governing Body on June 13, 2024, directing the department to manage all administrative matters in accordance with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs’ Transaction of Business Rules.
Dr. Syed AbidRasheed Shah, Secretary of Health & Medical Education and interim SKIMS administrator, has instructed officials to expedite processing of SKIMS-related files. The focus is on resolving issues like faculty recruitment, equipment procurement, and HR management promptly.
Professor Mohammad Ashraf Ganie, SKIMS Director, praised the establishment of the dedicated cell, emphasizing its role in enhancing infrastructure and administrative efficiency.
“The faculty and administration of SKIMS express gratitude to the Government for this initiative. The SKIMS Cell’s support will enhance healthcare services, ensuring SKIMS remains a leader in medical care, research, and education,” an official statement from SKIMS highlighted.
