Srinagar, Oct 06: With no strike call given or observed, thousands thronging to attend a political rally of a Union Minister, people not only standing for the national anthem, but also singing it whole heartedly and the Home Minister (Amit Shah) reposing faith in people by asking for removal of his bullet shield glass to connect directly with around 40,000 of crowd gathered to listen to him, indicate that the Valley has broken the clutches of terrorism and its people now want to pursue and sustain peace, normalcy and development.
Political observers termed Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s rally as a “new dawn in political circles” of the valley and an eye-opener for those who are spreading false narratives against the Government of India.
The observers said that the scenes of long queues with people desperately trying to enter the venue where HM Shah was going to address a massive gathering were refreshing as in the past the same were barred by terrorists to make any such attempt to connect with the Union Government.
People participation in large numbers in HM Amit Shah’s rally indicated that people of Valley are truly fed-up with terrorists and their subversive activities, unwanted strike calls given, interruption of business activities. Instead now they want to be the part of the government which not only promised, but is delivering them normalcy, peaceful environment, freedom from corruption and round the clock development.
Addressing a massive gathering at Baramulla, HM Amit Shah uncovered many facts including the shoddy politics played by some political families of the UT with their electorates and how terrorism was nurtured at the cost of a poor man’s child.
The political observers said HM Shah had a valid argument by asking the political parties of how many of their relatives or near ones lost their lives when thousands of innocents were killed in Valley due to terrorism in last three decades.
The observers said that HM’s observation shows that these families always kept their wards safe.
“Likewise, the HM correctly highlighted the point that the separatist organizations like Hurriyat also sent their wards outside the Valley to secure a better future for them while lured the children from humble background to go into the fire of terrorism,” the political observer said.
The observers said that the presence of huge number of crowd in the rally depicts that the efforts of Union Government in dismantling the terror eco-system in the UT has worked to a large extent.
People turned up in thousands from LoC as well from once separatist hotbed Sopore.
Unlike the past, when separatist leaders funded and supported by Pakistan used to call for strikes, hratals during visits of high profile visitors, things this time were contrast.
“Not only did no one dared to give any such call, nor did people stay indoors. Contrarily thousands turned up at Baramulla rally from LoC as well from once separatist hotbed of Sopore.
It is a new dawn in Kashmir and there was no fear in the minds of people. They were waiting for hours to listen to his address and after his rally, HM Shah too mingled with the crowd.
People left from distant areas early in the morning, while thousands had come to Baramulla and camped on the first day. The venue had a seating capacity of 35,000 people, but hundreds waited on the sidewalks, roads, streets.
In the rally, people were standing along and singing the national anthem together and the whole atmosphere was filled with slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jay’.
HM Shah’s gesture of stopping his speech after hearing the ‘Azaan’ from a nearby mosque was not only appreciated by all, but it showed his respect towards other religions.
In a tweet, a social media user Sheikh Iqbal said, “Halting the speech midway by the Honorable Home Minister due to Azaan is a great gesture and has won the hearts of Kashmiris, this clearly indicates the respect for religion and sentiments of Kashmiris,” he said.
During the three days of HM’s visit, there were no signs of shutdown or hartals in any part of the Valley. People were busy with their routine activities unlike past when Pakistan sponsored terrorists would call for hartals during any important visit.
It is reported that Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha has received accolades from various political as well as civil societies for immaculately managing the Union Minister’s whole three day tour.
The LG was appreciated for planning every minute detail which resulted in smooth management of a huge rally where the headcount was more than 42,000.
Seeing the response of people in the Baramulla rally, the world witnessed the change that J&K has undergone in last three years, said the observers.
Besides, HM’s visit to Chatti Patshahi Gurdwara in Rainawari area of Downtown was also important, where he mingled with the people in the area.
