Srinagar, Apr 14: President Bharatiya Janata Party, J&K Ravinder Raina on Sunday said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be visiting Jammu on April 16 (Tuesday) and all arrangements are being finalised.
Speaking to Rising Kashmir, Raina said that Shah will be visiting Jammu on Tuesday to address the rally to seek votes for BJP’s MP candidate Jugal Kishore Sharma. A strong and decisive governance of HM Shah has ensured peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
“I along with other party leaders today visited Manhas Mahasabha Ground, Paloura, Jammu to finalise the rally venue and to make adequate arrangements for the convenience of the public and the provision of basic amenities there,” he said.
He said the party has activated its entire cadre for making successful the mega rally of the Home Minister and ultra-modern water and heatproof pandaals/tents are being put in place at the rally venue to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for attendees.
In the past 4-5 days, the BJP focused on the Kathua-Udhampur-Doda constituency, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed election rallies at Udhampur and Kathua, respectively.
Earlier, Shah was to address a rally at the same venue on April 09 but it was postponed due to his busy schedule.
The BJP J&K chief further said, “The controversial articles 370 & 35 (A), which were a major hurdle in the peace, progress and prosperity in Jammu & Kashmir, could only be removed under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.”
He said the people of Jammu & Kashmir are highly thankful to both leaders. To express their gratitude there will be a massive rush of people at the rally site to listen to HM Amit Shah in Manhas Mahasabha Ground on April 16th, he added.
“I have asked the party leaders to plan everything related to the rally to facilitate the easy movement of people and to oversee all arrangements for smooth conduct of the rally,” he said, adding that duties have been assigned to party leaders to mobilise people for the rally.
Raina said there is a wave of BJP in each and every corner of Jammu and Kashmir, and at the Udhampur rally, a sea of people attended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally.
“The people have given the message that BJP will win with a majority in India including in Jammu and Kashmir. People of Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar have always stood with BJP,” he said.
Ravinder said the Chenab region has witnessed development in the past 10 years. “Apart from that unprecedented development is going on in Kashmir and Jammu regions. After decades, people have got the basic amenities,” he said.
About the BJP manifesto, Raina said Modi is himself a guarantee for people as every spoken word is being delivered. “BJP is a powerful and grassroots party in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
The BJP had won both Lok Sabha seats of the Jammu region – Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch and Kathua-Udhampur-Doda in 2014 and also in the 2019 Parliamentary elections.
After delimitation, the Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch Lok Sabha seat has now become the Jammu-Reasi seat. On both these Lok Sabha seats, the BJP has fielded its two-time sitting MPs.
The campaigning for the Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat will come to an end on April 17 and polling will be held on April 19.
For the Jammu-Reasi Lok Sabha seat, campaigning will come to an end on April 26 and polling will be held on April 29.
