Ganderbal, Jan 07: Property worth lakhs of rupees was damaged as a hotel in this central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district caught fire on Saturday.
An official said that a fire broke out in Himalaya Resorts hotel at Madpora Kullan village in Ganderbal’s Kangan area on Saturday early morning, resulting in complete damage to the building.
The locals said they immediately informed the Fire & Emergency Services after which a team reached the spot and extinguished the fire with the assistance of police, the army and locals.
The official told Rising Kashmir that there was no loss of life in the incident.
The cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet, the official said, adding that police have taken cognizance of the incident.
As per locals, property worth lakhs of rupees has been damaged.
