Hiller Block takes a giant leap towards a cleaner environment with the initiation of mass awareness regarding Door-to-Door waste collection. Under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, an authorized agency has been entrusted to collect, segregate, and treat waste.
The innovative approach involves a robust mechanism, including more than 70 community compost pits and over 10 Segregation Sheds and Rural Plastic Waste management units strategically positioned for efficient waste management.
Compost pits play a crucial role in proper composting, and at the individual level, additional pits have been constructed through MGNREGA.
Liquid waste management facilities, kitchen gardens, and soak pits, constructed through SBM (G) and MGNREGA, complement the waste management initiative. Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, S F Hamid has been actively overseeing the progress, ensuring timely support and review.
