JAMMU, May 15: Ahead of the upcoming G-20 meet, high alert has been sounded in Jammu, especially in the border areas like Kathua, Samba, Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch.
“High alert has been sounded across Jammu, especially in the border areas to ensure conduct of G-20 meet in a peaceful environment,” Dy Commandant, BSF,, Randeep Singh Jamwal, informed Rising Kashmir, adding, “Vigil has been intensified in the border areas along the LoC and the International Border (IB)”.
There are intelligence reports that the terrorists might try to infiltrate and hit soft targets besides security forces before the G-20 meet.
All the security agencies, including Police, Army, CRPF and others have been put on high alert ahead off G-20 meet.
Meanwhile, in view of the high alert, the J&K Police has also made additional deployment in the city. The additional nakas have also been put in place across Jammu and vehicles are being subjected to intense frisking.
“There is a high alert and we are on the job to foil any attempt by the anti-national forces to disrupt peaceful atmosphere as also the upcoming G-20 meet,” SSP Samba, Benam Tosh told Rising Kashmir.
