JAMMU, Aug 02: High alert has been sounded in all the ten districts of Jammu region ahead of August 5 and the Independence Day on August 15, official sources said.
The high alert has also been sounded in view of the recent terror attacks in different areas of Jammu region i.e at Macheddi in Kathua, Doda, Reasi, Rajouri and Poonch.
The movement of terrorists was also spotted in Akhnoor area of Jammu region some days back after which high alert was sounded in the area. The armed terrorists were captured in CCTVs while moving in Akhnoor.
“We are on high alert as terror threats are there in Jammu region,” SSP Doda, Javed Iqbal told Rising Kashmir. Similarly, the Army officials also said that troops have been directed to be on high alert in all the ten districts of Jammu region as terrorists have targeted different areas of Jammu region in the last 2 to 3 months.
“The security forces are on high alert in Jammu region, especially in the border districts of this region,” PRO Defence, Rising Kashmir informed Rising Kashmir.
Meanwhile, additional nakas have been put in place across Jammu and every vehicle is being subjected to intense checking. The CCTVs across the city have also been made fully functional and are being monitored in the control rooms round the clock.
The Police is keeping a close watch on the people visiting different hotels and lodges across Jammu.
