Bandipora Oct 28: Since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, north Kashmir’s Bandipora district has witnessed the upgrading of 97 Health and Wellness Centers along with the establishment of 06 Jan Aushadi Kendras in the span of four years.
Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, Dr Rafi Salati told Rising Kashmir that they have enhanced 97 health centres by increasing human resources and improving various facilities. “We have also established 06 Jan Aushadi Kendras in Bandipora to make essential medicines readily available and affordable,” he said.
Dr Salati said that over the past four years, there has been significant expansion and improvement in the health sector in Bandipora, driven by the committed efforts of the District Administration Bandipora and the Health Department to enhance the well-being of the local population.
“We have enhanced and improved the facilities at District Hospital Bandipora to ensure that every citizen, regardless of their location, has access to essential healthcare services,” he said, adding, “To enhance emergency response and ensure its effectiveness, we have invested in infrastructure development, including setting up four Oxygen Generation Plants and establishing a Blood Bank at District Hospital Bandipora.”
The CMO further said, “We have additionally expanded vital facilities, such as a 10-bedded ICU, a 12-bedded Pediatric ICU, and a 30-bedded Pediatric ward at District Hospital Bandipora. Chemotherapy ward and public Health Lab at District Hospital is under progress.”
