Jammu, July 02: An eye camp was organised at Sri Narsingh temple, Jansal in tehsil Majalta where hundreds of patients were treated on the spot and dates for free surgeries at AK Gupta Hospital, were given. Since morning, a beeline of patients had lined up for eye checkups and cataracts and other eye-related surgeries.
The camp was formally thrown open by Ranbir Singh Pathania, former MLA and BJP spokesperson who threw light on the various schemes and initiatives of the Government of India in building infrastructure and strengthening health-related facilities throughout the country. “Modi Sarkar has done immense work in providing quality and inclusive health services to all,” he said on the occasion.
Pathanaia said Ayushman Bharat with a provision of cashless treatment up to five lakh rupees has virtually been the game-changer. “This has only ensured the well-being of people. It has saved their hard-earned money too. That is why, improvements and achievements in the health sector stand tall as a golden feature of Modi Sarkar’s 9 saal bemisaal programme,” he said.
The camp was organised by AK Gupta Hospital and Research Centre, Kali Bari Kathua with a view to bracing up supplementary health diagnosis and affordable treatments for the needy people of far-flung areas. Dr S. K. Saini, MS Eye, PGI Chandigarh, and Dr Ishita Gupta, eye surgeons, examined the patients and recommended necessary treatments to the needy, deserving patients of the area. Dates were given for free of cost eye-surgeries at the hospital.
Pathania appreciated the noble initiative by the AK Gupta Hospital and research centre in providing the free-of-cost quality eye check for the people of the remote area, especially for the aged who are often marginalised when it comes to healthcare.
Lochan Singh presented a vote of thanks, especially to Dr A K Gupta, for his Samaritan gesture. He also thanked Health Department for its support and hailed the local volunteers.
Among those present during the event include Dina Nath Bhagat Chairman BDC Majalta, Amit Sharma DDC Majalta, Ram Singh Sarpanch Majalta, Mast Ram, Kirpal Singh, Surjeet and others.
