Anantnag, May 06: Four health workers, including a doctor and a pharmacist, have been suspended after a negligence video went viral. The footage depicted a patient being locked in the Daycare ward, with the hospital left unattended in Kapran Verinag of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday afternoon.
In the video, a man in his 70s alleges that a patient in the IPD ward was administered glucose and subsequently locked inside while the medical staff left the hospital.
The incident sparked outrage on social media platforms, prompting swift action from authorities.
The alleged incident happened at New Type Primary Health Center (NTPHC), Kapran in the Verinag block.
The man featured in the video alleges that at 2 pm, he received a glucose injection and was subsequently inside the ward. He said that he remained locked inside until 5 pm when a nearby caretaker assisted in unlocking the hospital.
Dr Mohammad Yousuf, Block Medical Officer (BMO), Verinag told Rising Kashmir that they have taken action against the negligence and that enquiry has been initiated.
