Srinagar, Sept 14: National Conference (NC) leader and Pattan Constituency candidate, Reyaz Bedar on Saturday said the party leadership has initiated legal action against the People’s Conference (PC) leader Imran Ansari for his “hate speeches” in public.

Talking to Rising Kashmir, Bedar said, “We’re going to initiate legal action/FIR against Imran Raza Ansari for his hate speech against police personnel in Palhallan and other public places in the valley.

“We have also requested the Election Commission of India to take cognizance of his hate speeches, false and baseless statements against the police department and the police families and also cancellation of his form for violation of the Model Code of Conduct,” he said.

Bedar said they are also lodging a formal complaint and hope that ECI will take action against such things. Such language is unacceptable, how can you label anyone,” the NC leader said.

Earlier on Friday, Imran Raza Ansari, the former MLA of Pattan, alleged that the NC candidate for Pattan (Reyaz Bedar) was involved in civilian killings during the 2010 unrest in Kashmir.

“I am not making this up; you can verify it through newspaper reports. NC candidate for Pattan, who was the SSP at the time, was involved in the killing of Tufail Matoo, who died after a tear gas shell struck his head in Srinagar,” Ansari alleged.
