Khansahib, Aug 31: Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and former Minister, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, today officially submitted his nomination papers for the Khansahib assembly constituency. Yaseen submitted the papers before the Returning Officer, accompanied by a large procession of nearly 20,000 supporters and party workers.
Following the submission, Yaseen addressed the gathered crowd amidst loud slogans of support. He vowed to prioritize the safeguarding of Jammu and Kashmir’s dignity and identity in the legislative assembly, focusing particularly on protecting the local population’s rights concerning land and employment. He expressed firm opposition to any efforts to alter the region’s demographic makeup.
Yaseen also announced plans to collaborate with like-minded political parties to move a constitutional motion in the upcoming assembly session. The motion will seek to restore the constitutional rights that, according to Yaseen, were “arbitrarily and unilaterally usurped” following the events of August 5, 2019.
Furthermore, the PDF Chairman pledged to bring the Khansahib and Budgam areas to new heights of development and prosperity, promising to work tirelessly for the region’s advancement.
