Srinagar, Aug 18: Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and former minister, Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen on Sunday called upon the people to choose efficient, honest and dedicated representatives in the upcoming legislative assembly elections, who are capable of leading a “democratic fight for the restoration of constitutional rights and the identity” of Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking at a one-day PDF workers’ convention in Driagam, Chrari Sharief constituency, Hakeem highlighted the importance of using the power of the vote wisely. He urged the people to elect candidates who could genuinely represent the aspirations of the common people in the Jammu and Kashmir legislative assembly.
“Jammu and Kashmir is currently facing the worst-ever unemployment crisis, which is severely affecting our young generation,” Yaseen said.
He stressed the urgent need to address this issue and protect the youth from the detrimental effects of unemployment. “If we fail to provide employment opportunities to our educated youth now, future generations will never forgive us,” he warned.
The PDF Chaief criticised the government for neglecting the development of several pristine tourist destinations in the Chrari Sharief constituency, including Yusmarg, Neelnag and Bargah. He demanded the construction of essential tourism infrastructure in these areas and demanded the prioritisation of the Neelnag-Yusmarg-Bargah ropeway project to boost tourism activities in the region.
